Create a Keplr wallet

Install the Keplr wallet extension

1. Open your Chrome browser and visit the Keplr Extension Page.
2. Click "Add to Chrome".
3. Follow the instructions and confirm the installation.

Visit the Keplr tutorial if you need more help with installation.

Once installed, you will see the Keplr icon in your browser extension.

You can either create a new wallet or import an existing wallet.

Create a new wallet

Follow these steps to create a new wallet. You can also import a wallet if you have a recovery phrase.

1. Click on the Keplr icon in your browser extension.
2. Click Create a new wallet and then click Create new recovery phrase.
3. Write down your 12 or 24-word recovery phrase safely (do not share it with anyone).

4. Complete the form by entering your desired account name and setting a password.
5. Click "Next" to finalize and create your Keplr account.

Connect to the Layer network

1. Navigate to The Layer Explorer.
2. In the top-right corner of the app, click the "Connect Wallet" button.
3. The app will prompt you to connect your Keplr wallet and add the Layer testnet if it's not already added.
4. Approve the network addition in the Keplr popup.
5. Copy your Layer address (you'll need it for the next steps).

Hit the faucet

The Faucet will provide you with funds for the Layer hacknet.

1. After installing Telegram, Visit https://t.me/LayerUp_bot to open the LayerUp Telegram app.
2. Click Start and then Start adventure.
3. After following the prompts in the app, you'll be able to open the menu in the left corner of the screen. Click the illuminated drop-shaped button.
4. Scroll down and input your wallet address from earlier.
5. Click Claim Tokens. The faucet tokens will be sent to your wallet.

Import a wallet

Follow these instructions to import a wallet to Keplr using a recovery phrase.

1. Click on the Keplr icon in your browser extension.

2. Click import an existing wallet.

3. Click Use a recovery phrase or private key

4. Input your 12 or 24-word recovery phrase.

5. After confirming your phrase, your imported account will show in the ui.
